The series does not offer any action footage at all. “Nicolas said that it’s a series about the lies within the couple,” says Evelyne Brochu. “That’s what I found interesting: how the unsaid can afflict us.”.“It was magical”Evelyne Brochu got the role of Louise from a distance, after a video audition and a Skype meeting with Nicolas Saada. “It’s cool to know that it’s possible to do this today. It makes it easier for those who want to pursue a career abroad,” says the actress from Café de Flore, Orphan Black, Mirador and Polytechnique.The filming of Thanksgiving took to Paris in November and December 2017. During this period, Evelyne Brochu rented an apartment in the 11th district which she found on Airbnb and was located a few minutes’ walks from the set. “It was magical,” she says. “This proximity, this immersive effect… It fed my character a lot. I lived differently, I spoke differently, I lived with different people… I got so wrapped up.”The actress really liked the rhythm of the French shoots, which were much slower than in Quebec. “Their schedules are a little more ‘humane’. We had time to finish the scenes. And every lunchtime, we would sit down and discuss the scenes over a glass of wine!”New motherNew mum since October, Evelyne Brochu has not promoted the series in France in recent weeks. She preferred to answer journalists’ questions in Montreal, so she could stay with her son.“I wanted us to have our first months together,” she explains. “I have never been so present-moment.
