This is the underwear for the Belle dress I made last semester (which I will also share when I get a minute)The project was to take inspiration from the 2017 Beauty and the Beast, but lean more into the historical fantasy elements to create something with a more typical 1700′s shape. This is NOT intended to be 100% historically accurate, allowances were made for a wide variety of reasons that I don’t want to bore people with - but feel free to send me an ask if you’d like to know more.Since the underwear isnt seen I really had no reason to go this hard on it, but pictured here are the stays I made with decorative black stitching on white fabric (terrifying because as Im sure you can imagine I couldn’t afford to make mistakes) a Pannier with black boning channels, and the first of the petticoats (from before the frill was sewn down).
