Primigenia means “first-born”, though the meaning of this epithet isn’t clear. Fortuna might have been regarded as the first-born of the Roman gods or, perhaps, the first-born child of Jupiter and Juno. It could also refer to the antiquity of the temple of Fortuna Primigenia at Praeneste, which dates to the 2nd century BCE.It seems especially significant that this festival falls on a Friday the 13th this year, with 2020 having been such a tumultuous year. I think it wouldn’t be amiss to exercise caution and behave with the utmost propriety today. -- source link
