There’s something wrong, she thought.It was that vague sense of unease, like when you’re at the checkout at the grocery store, and know you’ve forgotten something. But you just can’t quite remember what it was.It didn’t get in the way of her performance, so she figured it didn’t matter. She knew she was supposed to look at the screen, and do as it said. But every time there was this vague feeling like she forgot something. Which was odd, because there was nothing else but the screen, and the words telling her what to do. How could she forget something when her entire world was the screen, and the words? The words.“Smile for me.” The corners of her mouth pulled back, and she grinned foolishly. That was all that mattered. Right? She felt that scratching in the back of her mind that there was more than just the screen. But she couldn’t think what. That was just crazy talk, the felt.
