I BE PRETTY YET FIERCE KNIGHT. so purty. where are her gauntlets? and whoever gave her that sword didn’t make the blade wide enough! its like the armourer didn’t think about the grim realities of battle! you can be a pretty knight but you also need to be a living knight! can’t crush your enemies and uphold the code if you’re dead! it’s an estoc, designed for thrusting not slashing. it’s meant for fighting against mail and plate armour.a standard longsword will just glance off of plate, an estoc is designed for stabbing into the weak points in the joints. Slashing weapons are also not great against ringmail, but stabbing weapons can split the rings. -- source link
