stopthatimp:niyalune: #openly sobbing #the fact that they’re still such good friends and have such an easy respectful playful connection#even 70 years later #that Peggy still gives him shit #and he still looks at her like she’s the coolest most badass person he knows #and she’s still saying Steve you utter boob get your shit together #and he’s all yeah yeah I know- (via kissingcullens) i’m super interested in peggy’s POV in cap2 - like, steve must seem so young to her. SHE’S OLD AS BALLS, and there he is, still really young. he’s not even 30, and that shows in a lot of his actions; he’s very all-or-nothing in his reasoning. not completely, but more than i’d imagine a legit old woman would be. it interests me especially in reflection to the analysis of SHIELD/peggy’s role in creating SHIELD that i’ve seen. because of course steve’s right when he mandates destruction of SHIELD as an entity (as right as you can be in a universe where it’s obviously gonna come back bc these are comic book movies but YOU KNOW) and in this scene, peggy’s unaware that SHIELD is et up with hydra (IS HYDRA CAPITALIZED I DON’T KNOW I’M 2 LAZY) - but she still has a certain level of perspective, like “well we fucked a bit of it up but that’s life”, that steve doesn’t have yet. it’s interesting to me because a lot of steve’s old-person jokes strike me as kind of juvenile - he’s got old-fashioned manners etc but on a basic level he’s more analogous to a 30-year-old yelling about their first gray hair than someone who’s genuinely old, a la peggy. that’s a distinction i don’t see explored as much, along with the distinction between “i regret literally everything about my life” and “we did the best we could and maybe it wasn’t perfect or good enough but that’s life”. -- source link
