Fan Feedback: After [Candice’s] casting as Iris, we have seen more black women be cast in race-bent, leading lady roles. Despite the racism that she continues to combat, Candice’s performance as Iris has been trail-blazing. Did she realize to the extent which her performance and character would become so important to opening up doors for other talented, amazing black women when she was cast? -- source link
