If Mario is sleeping, any object that pushes him around does not actually wake him up from sleep.2. Mario kicks some objects, like cans and trash bags, automatically upon touching them. This routine does not check if Mario is sleeping, nor does it change his state to awake upon finishing.Separately, these oversights rarely become relevant in gameplay. However, put together, a scenario such as the one shown in the footage can occur: an object can push a sleeping Mario into a trash bag, causing him to instantaneously wake up to kick away the bag and then just as instantaneously go back to sleep as though nothing happened.
