Park of the People’s Economic Achievements, Moscow, USSR (now Russia), Summer 1976.Seeing this exhibition of the latest and best in Soviet technology and production forced me realize the lies we had been told about the USSR and its awesome power. Instead of being a land of technical wizardry and up-to-date technology, the USSR was barely beyond the status of a middling Third World nation, and its technology was laughably crude.
