Bilbo would later take the kitten (which he named “Buttons”, which Kili thought was ridiculous) to show to other wounded dwarves to cheer them up, and Buttons became a healing cat. But at the end of the day it would always return to Kili. Ok it’s been 8 years since I posted this and @heartoferebor pointed out to me that it looks like he got top surgery which, hell yeah Kíli same, but also it makes Buttons sitting right on him the MOST post-surgery cat behaviour of any transmasc’s pet. -- source link
