irlirl: PHANTOGRAM • TUMBLR IRL • BOULDER, CO • 10/13/16 Phantogram ( @phantogram) and photographer Ben Zank ( @benzank) closed out a memorable year of Tumblr IRL with an emotional performance at Boulder’s eTown Hall. An old church converted to a performance space, the room added breadth to the band’s sound, and warmth to their voices. Ben Zank’s dark imagery, meanwhile, created a depth and introspection to a setlist packed with personal experience. As Josh Carter sang “Barking Dog,” which he wrote for bandmate Sarah Barthel’s late sister, the entire room could feel his emotion. At the end of the show, each fan got to meet Ben and the band, who gave them an autographed photo book. Go here view all the photos while you stream Phantogram’s new album, Three. Big thanks to Ice Breakers ( @icebreakersunicorn) for making this night possible and to eTown Hall for hosting us. Photos and GIFs by Laura June Kirsch ( @laurajunekirsch). -- source link
