projectcitizen: Spotlight: The OneWall Project Denver’s pedestrian-centric 16th Street Mall is tightly packed with retail shops and eateries, but alleys between buildings have historically been dumping grounds for business trash and restaurant grease. The OneWall Project, a push toward more large-scale public art in Denver, approached businesses about transforming these 16-foot wide alleys into community performance venues, micro-retail locations, and art galleries. First up, this alley between Curtis and Champa streets features four abstract photos, enlarged to 15’ x 15’ and printed on adhesive vinyl. (More photos here.) Next up for the project is a public art contest in which the winner’s work will be installed on a 1000 sq. ft wall at the busy intersection of 12th and Speer in Denver. -- source link
