I tried to found balance between identity of our nations and Inuyasha’s characters. Kagome live in Tokyo, capital of the Japan, so I use Moscow 90s like the starting point. Main plot of Inuyasha happen about XIV-XV century, in those times Moscow was ordinary Russian town, so I think the well could be outside of modern Moscow.
