historylover1230:Hadza/Hadzabe- The Hadza or Hadzabe are a people native to Lake Eyasi and Rift Valley of Tanzania. The Hadza are not closely genetically related to any other people in the region, while their language is an isolate, unrelated to any other. Archeological and genetic research suggests the Hadza have lived in the region for as long as 50,000 years. Hunter-gatherers, the Hadza came into conflict with the agriculturist and cattle raising groups that entered their territory. The Hadza’s first contact with the West came in 1911, when the German colonial government sent anthropologists and explores into the region. When Britain took over Tanzania following WWI, they attempted to force the Hadza to settle down and adopt Christianity, efforts which proved unsuccessful. Today the Hadza face issues surrounding national parks and farmland encroaching on their territory, as well as well as issues with alcoholism. -- source link
