skyboneharper:I have a great fondness for the thought of Cassandra’s biceps. This is That Drawing—the one I’ve been struggling with for months. FINALLY. I’ve been intermittently doing exploratory sketches in different styles and mediums and hating them all. And then I finally thought: scratchboard! So I dug it out, along with an Xacto knife—it’s been years since I’ve used either—and had at it. I used a reference for the arm, the rest is free drawing. There are things I’d do differently if I did it again, and some problems with it that I’d fix, but overall I’m pretty happy with it.(I also must say that scanning scratchboard is a great way to discover just how much lint there is in one’s environment. I wiped the drawing down twice and cleaned the glass and it the scan was still covered in lint. Oh well, that’s what digital touchup is for.) -- source link
