SOME RULE CHANGES INCOMING!Hopefully these changes won’t be too hard to adjust to, because it’s just a little further regulation on things we already do here. First of all, we should say that we’re not doing this to target anyone, or single anyone out; these are issues we’ve discussed among the staff for a long time, and we think the conclusion we’ve finally come to is what’s best for the overall health of the roleplay without inconveniencing the members too much, or being unreasonable. Hopefully you’ll agree! The first thing that we’ll regulate a little more are faceclaim changes. We won’t be putting a limit on the amount of faceclaim changes someone can have for now, but we will be implementing a two month wait time before you can request a faceclaim change again. This will ensure that faceclaim changes are made with a little more thought than they are currently, and that everyone will have to give their faceclaim changes a solid chance before requesting a different faceclaim. This will also give the members (and mods) a chance to adjust to faceclaim changes, and will slow down our faceclaim change turnover a little bit. We’ve also had concerns about people using faceclaim changes as more of a tool to revamp muses without having to drop them and lose points and, while that’s totally understandable in a roleplay like Rookies, an additional regulation like this will ensure people don’t take advantage of the ability to change faceclaims and give your mods some peace of mind. This will require people to consider dropping muses that aren’t working out and doing a total reset on them more often, as opposed to being able to jump straight to a faceclaim change at any time. Most importantly to us, this will give brand new incoming muses and muns more of a window on faceclaims as opposed to current members being able to change faceclaims at any time. In a roleplay as well-established (and intimidating to new members) as Rookies, that means a lot!The second change is in regard to third muses. Don’t worry– we aren’t taking them away! If you look at our announcement when we allowed third muses, however, we reserved the right to no longer allow third muses if we thought the quality of activity for those with third muses suffered. We aren’t going to go that far, but we think the current state of third muses in Rookies isn’t the healthiest for the roleplay as it could be, especially as debuts happen and muns with multiple muses have even more activity requirements and responsibilities. It’s our job as mods to look out for you guys and your wellbeing as muns, too, and we think muns could quickly get into a territory here where they scramble to keep three muses active every week, and stress about having so much to do on them, and that’s not what we want. To remedy this, if you have a third muse end up on the activity check three times, you will need to wait an additional three months to pick up a third muse again. Your three months wait period will start from the day your third muse is cleared or dropped on the activity check post. Never fear– since this is a new rule, everyone currently eligible to pick up a third muse still can, even if you’ve had three third muses on the activity check in your history already. This will apply to everyone with three muses currently. If you’ve lost two third muses, and your current third muse doesn’t work out, you’ll have to wait another three months before picking another one up again. If there’s any confusion about this, feel free to send a message to the main and we’ll be happy to clear things up! We hope you all understand why we’re doing this, and that you find these new regulations helpful over time, even if they might feel like a bummer at first. We don’t want to hinder your creativity and enthusiasm in Rookies, (we love it!) but we do want to make sure everyone is realistic with what they can handle, and we think that this will ensure that, and be better for everyone overall. We’ll update our rules page to reflect these changes right away! -- source link
