On March 31, International Transgender Day of Visibility, join us for a screening of the documentary “My Name Is Pauli Murray,” a portrait of the groundbreaking attorney, activist, priest, and dedicated memoirist — told largely in Murray’s own words. Derrick T. Jordan, Director of the Ackerman Institute’s Gender & Family Project, begins the screening with ways to support trans youth amidst the legislative attacks on rights to affirming healthcare. After the film, director Julie Cohen and Dr. Kimberly Springer, curator of the Oral History Archives at Columbia University’s Rare Book & Manuscript Library, discuss Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray’s profound legacy in developing intersectional legal theory and overcoming gender barriers to be ordained as an Episcopal priest. We hope to see you there! Tickets are $16 ($14 for Members).https://bit.ly/34PfUc8 Courtesy of Amazon Studios -- source link
