biodiverseed:The harvest is bountiful on the grape wall this year. I was told to prune the fruiting vines and only leave two leaves after the last cluster, so that is what I did. After shaping the vines for two years, this is my first season getting a harvest on these vines, and there are around 50 clusters! The cultivars are all eating grapes that thrive in the neighbouring UK: “Brant,” (blue/purple) “Madelaine Sylvaner,” (green/yellow) and “Triomphe d’Alsace” (blue/purple).Growing up in Western Canada, my grape options were very limited: my local greenhouse only had “Valiant,” and “Beta,” which were rated down to zone 2b/3a, but they were nothing special as far as eating grapes go. -- source link
