assignedmale: “Femme boys shouldn’t have to hide to feel safe.” I have an anecdote about the second frame. After I ran away from my dad’s house, I found myself in a very harsh neighborhood in Montreal, where I finished high school. I was pretty much out and proud there, and many people started picking on me. But then there was this Turkish boy who always seemed pissed about something (I remember he kept interrupting the teachers). We never really talked, but I knew he repeated that he would beat up anyone who dared to mock me. I remember he got called a f*ggot for that, but for the rest of the school year, I never got into trouble. That was probably the time when I felt the safest at school. I’ll be eternally grateful to him for that. So hey, stand up for femme boys and transfeminine folks, OK? Sophie Labelle -- source link
