To this day: for the bullied and the beautiful by Shane KoycozanOk another recommendation in the adult/teen picture book category… much like B by Sarah Kay this short book is made up of one long beautiful illustrated poem.As the title suggests the poem is about growing up bullied, it looks at many different children who are bullied for different reasons one for his weight, one for her birthmark and one for his depression, Shane beautifully captures each of their pain and spreads light on the experience of being bullied in youth.It has both lovely illustrations and as always Shane Koyczan’s words are inspiring, beautiful and in this case heartbreaking.I would recommend this to people who have been bullied growing up, people who’s children are being bullied, people are still being bullied, and in general people who didn’t fit in growing up or still have trouble to this day… it’s a beautifully realistic but hopeful book with a wonderful message.★★★★ -- source link
