flynn-science: james21sinkins: Something i picked up for a good price, haven’t really played it that much. as time is always elusive… but I know Tron fans are the best fans out there :) and enjoying what i can share to you . if anyone has had a chance to play this fully what did you think of it? If I remember correctly, this version of Tron Evolution actually has a Legacy version of the jai alai-esque ball game from the original Tron, but with hex tiles instead of concentric rings. That was the coolest part to me, since that part of the original is often overlooked in favor of disc battles and lightcycles. I nabbed and beat this game a while back. It’s a party game. And it’s not very good. At least, if you’re playing alone.Yea, it has a Legacy version of the Ring Game, which they call Hyperball if I remember correctly. It’s controls are a bit awkward, but is otherwise one of the more enjoyable games of the bunch. For the game in general, I’d probably have a much better time with it if I had some Tron fan friends in the area to play with, since that’s the whole point of a party game, but I don’t. The A.I. during the single player campaign makes some of the games absolutely painful to play. The worst one is later in the game when you get to the Outlands. One of the games there is a sorta Mario Kart clone, only with Light Runners. Which control like the Mako from Mass Effect 1. Which also have machine guns strapped to them. Which are really hard for you to use reliably but of course the A.I. is pinpoint accurate with them. Beating this was mandatory for continuing on to the next stage, and for at least 10 matches in a row the game gave one of the A.I. racers a massive speed boost at the end to snatch victory from me. I spent five hours replaying that one game before I won through sheer luck. From what I can tell, all the minigames that the game has are decently designed, it’s just some of them have A.I. opponents that are so unfair that it ruins the fun for someone who has to play alone. But hey, I didn’t get it for the gameplay, I got it for the story since this is a canon installment in the Legacy continuity, and the story it has is actually fairly interesting. Short, doesn’t seem to hold much weight in the storyline overall, but interesting. -- source link
