Well, because that’s an image from The Walking Dead, and the zombie genre doesn’t exist in that universe; no books, no movies, no comics, no video games, nothing. It’s why you don’t hear the “z” word but rather things like walkers, biters, deadheads, etc. The concept of dead people reanimating and trying to eat you was entirely foreign to these characters until the day it actually happened. -- source link
