dracodormeins:Spider in the middle of the web.#For some reason I’ve never been able to get behind Jim being a spider in the center of the web. #I get it with the others but naturally Jim is different (Elementary!Moriarty falls a bit in to this too now that I think about it). #It feels like they’ve evolved past the days of their former predecessors being central brains #and have assumed the role of becoming the quivers of the web itself. Just being the central force was no longer enough. #They needed more to feed on in this day and age because these Moriartys are FRIGHTENINGLY intelligent #and their lack of restrictions thanks to a fluid identity within the web made that possible. #You aren’t entirely sure who you’re dealing with even when you do meet them (and particularly in Jim’s case he doesn’t know either #because the web consumed whatever little identity he had left a long time ago). #‘A Spider’ or 'The Napoleon of Crime’ just doesn’t fit as well with them #and I think a lot of it has to do with the fact they actively reject and rip apart anything that’s going to compartmentalize them like that #while sometimes using it to their advantage to throw anyone naive enough to believe it off their trail. #They don’t take them as compliments they take them as challenges because if they’ve become something that easily recognizable and familiar #then it has to go (which is why they have such strong feelings towards their Sherlocks because it’s like looking in a mirror #that makes having a somewhat stable identity and wanting something 'definite’ appealing in a way they never thought they could have #but let’s not drown in ship feels tonight for once). (dynamics-of-an-asteroid)isn’t it nice when someone states all your moriarty feelings for you. -- source link
