The Timely WarningInvented by Dr. E. B. Foote in 1905, “The Timely Warning” was a device placed around the penis for the prevention of nocturnal emissions. In an age when masturbation was considered severely dangerous to a man’s health, Dr. Foote considered nocturnal emissions a form of “involuntary masturbation” which “degrades the vital elements of the blood”. Believe it or not in the late 19th/early 20th century this was considered legitimate medicine among many. Each device cost $2 (around $50 today). -- source link
