Finland Station With Statue of Lenin, Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), USSR (Now Russia) - [Финляндский вокзал со статуей Ленина, Ленинград (ныне Санкт-Петербург), СССР (ныне Россия)]. 1976.I do not know if the statue of Lenin still stands in front of this important point of connnection between Russia and the West. The station has double significance for me: 1) it was my departure point after an intensely interesting if sometimes rather uncomfortable sojourn in the USSR and 2) it is in the title of a important book by one of my literary idols, the critic Edmund Wilson. His To the Finland Station gave a revealing portrait of Lenin and of the early years of the Bolshevik/Soviet enterprise. -- source link
