I gave Chester his first chemo pill last night. He has small cell Lymphoma, which is probably related to his newly-diagnosed IBD (for which he’s also taking prednisolone). The vet ran a battery of tests for the IBD (Chester had to have xrays, a sonogram and an endoscopy with biopsy) and the lymphoma results came back Friday from a lab at UCLA that is the only one in the country that tests for this. We caught it early, which is good. Going through Garfield’s bladder-surgery drama, in a strange way, is making this easier to deal with. Please know that he’s under the care of one of NYC’s best cat vets Dr. Soboroff at New York Cat Hospital so whatever happens, the hubby and I know that we are doing all we can for him. We’ve had him since he was 4 years old (he was a breeding cat before that). He’s now 11. -- source link
