marsdaydream:mazarin221b:random-nexus:petratodd:A sampling of what the hell is wrong with the Sherlock fandom. I’ve seen some people try to act like Louise Brealey was in the wrong for telling the last person to “piss off” but they were out of line, especially when you see that Louise was getting petty tweets all day. She deleted her tweet earlier about texting Benedict and I don’t blame her, having looked at the tweets @ her.Performers on a TV show do not have to accept rudeness or abuse from ANYONE, not even a fan. (Although based on comments from some of those people, I see them admitting they weren’t even following her before they tweeted her, and/or disliked Molly anyway, so I’m using the term ‘fan’ very loosely.) And it is not inappropriate when Louise tweets an article that mentions the character SHE plays. She should be able to share an article without people complaining directly to her about the ship, especially when they’re saying they wished the Oxford blog cited a pairing that doesn’t include her!I’m embarrassed by the Sherlock fandom today. I don’t blame Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch for staying far away from Twitter.I’m astonished any celebs bother with having a Twitter account, seeing how a certain percentage of their fans behave - or DON’T behave, rather.Obviously none of these idiot fans ever got instructed on manners, or at least in not being an arse. It doesn’t matter what you think the ‘ship’ blurb ought to say, by countering Louise Brealey’s Sherlock/Molly comment with Sherlock/John, it’s like taking her out of the fun she just initiated and maybe flipping her off to boot. Like grabbing the scrabble game out of her hands when she’s the one who brought it to the party. Rude, obnoxious, and just thoughtless. This is the shite that leads to people mocking ALL fans of Sherlock Holmes (in any iteration), because there’s always these arseclowns making us all look bad.*grumbles disgustedly and stomps off*Goddammit, Sherlock fandom. Only you could take something as innocently fun and delightful as Loo’s tweets - Louise Brealey, a talented and kind and hilarious and smart human being - and turn it into a total trainwreck. Fuck you. Fuck you right in the ear. This makes me sick. What Maz said. -- source link
