On the Cool, Cool Mountain slide in Super Mario 64, the penguin that competes against Mario does not follow a predetermined path, but instead adjusts its speed and direction based on Mario’s speed and position. In extremely rare cases, specific inputs made by the player can result in the penguin’s algorithm making it fall off the side of the slide, as seen in the footage. If the penguin falls off the slide, it will not arrive at the finish line, making the star normally won from the penguin unobtainable on that visit to the slide. The player has to leave the slide and reenter it from outside to try again.Main Blog | Twitter | Patreon | Small Findings | Source: twitch.tv user “ch0msky” -- source link
