Our 2015 Brooklyn Artists Ball will once again feature artist-created immersive table environments.
Our 2015 Brooklyn Artists Ball will once again feature artist-created immersive table environments. However, unlike years past which tapped a new crop of artists each time, the gala’s fifth incarnation welcomes back eight previous participants to create larger scale installations for this year’s festivities. We will be spotlighting each of these artists over the next few weeks.Dustin Yellin has made a name for himself through artworks like his fantastical large-scale, 3-dimensional glass sculptures. Yellin is also Founder and Director of Pioneer Works Center for Art and Innovation, a center dedicated to the creation, synthesis and discussion of art, science and education. Located in Red Hook, Brooklyn, the Pioneer Works gathers artists, scientists and creative thinkers to collaborate outside the boundaries of traditional institutions where specialization often limits the application of ideas across disciplines. For this year’s Brooklyn Artists Ball, Yellin and Pioneer Works are bringing their mission to Brooklyn Museum by curating three tables to contribute to the evening’s festivities. The first two tables will be designed and created by artists Hyon Gyon and Z Behl. The final table, referred to as the “techTable,” is brought to you by “industry leaders in custom interactive table art,” aka Daniel Kent, David Sheinkopf, and Tommy Martinez. Not only are we excited to see these final tables, but we’re also looking forward to the incredible virtual reality experience that Pioneer Works is creating for the Dance Party! -- source link
