thedreadvampy:The Fool dress is finished! More or less! This is both the most frilly and foofy thing I’ve ever owned AND the most complex thing I’ve ever made without a pattern! I’M SO PROUD! I’m still contemplating the sleevelets from the original design - it seems a shame not to use them after I spent like an hour and a half painting the fabric, but I’m not sure they add anything to the design - and I can’t really completely finish up the chest until I decide if I need to add anything else, so it’s all raw edges inside, but other than that it’s done! (Might add a sash too, but I can make that decision whenever) (And yes, trisshawkeye, I work ridiculously fast, it’s the only way I ever do textiles stuff. SITTING DOWN AND SEWING IN TWENTY HOUR BLOCKS UNTIL THE THING IS DONE. I am an odd combination of impulsive and dedicated. I will work my socks off while I’m doing it but if it isn’t done in 1 or 2 sessions I tend to get bored and wander off. Though that…actually hasn’t happened yet because very few things take more than two days solid work to pattern and sew.)Wow! Colour me super-impressed, and more than a little envious of your snazzy, new dress. -- source link
