snowbunnyfantasies: The selfieThis is Kimberly, sending a selfie to a Black man who has just asked her out on a date.Mixed couples have become a lot more common since the passing of the Racial Justice in Entertainment Act, which regulates what can be shown in films:First, all relationships shown should be between a Black man and a white woman. This means that all RomComs are about a Black man and a white woman overcoming hilarious misunderstandings to be together. All action movies are about a Black man saving the day and getting the white girl. Etc.In family movies in which the children are white, the mother must either be a single mom or the father be a Black stepfather. White men are allowed all sorts of side roles, but showing a white man as a romantic interest is not allowed.Exceptions can be made if the movie is about a white woman in a deadbeat relationship with a white man when a handsome Black man shows up and seduces her.Second, films should support the view of casual sex being a normal and expected thing between Black men and white women. First dates are expected to end with sex. This need not be shown explicitly. For example, a PG13 film could show the family sitting around the breakfast table when the older sister walks in, her hair messy and her makeup smudged. “Oh, you must be home from your date with Tyrone,” says her parents casually before asking her to clean up and join the rest of the family for breakfast. With the number of mixed couples going up on screen, the number has also gone up off screen. White women are conditioned to see Black men - and only Black men - as potential partners. And the hookup culture promoted by films has also affected how fast dating results in sex. Gone is the endless courting that white guys were told to engage in. Instead, white women believe that they must put out on the first date to avoid being seen as prudes. This behavior rewards Alpha males for whom taking the initiative comes more natural.Sending a butt selfie to a Black man who has just asked you on a date is perfectly normal now. Kimberly knows that before the date is over, this will be the view she’s giving her date: -- source link
