To wish or say that the Church of today should return to how the church was in the days of the Acts
To wish or say that the Church of today should return to how the church was in the days of the Acts of the Apostles is to declare that Jesus Christ has not been faithful and successful in building and cleansing His Church which He has had more than two thousand years to do. For it is written, the path of the just is a shinning light that gets brighter and brighter. Jesus Himself also said, upon this Rock I will build my church and the gates of Hell will not prevail against it. I make bold to say with understanding that the Church of today isn’t inferior but better, not greater, than the early church. Certainly the church today has her problems like the early church did(read Revelation 2 & 3), but no Christian with a proper understanding of Church history and world’s will wish to be transported back to be a Christian in Paul’s time. While we continue to be inspired by the Acts of the early Apostles and Christians, let us look around us and see how far Christ has brought His Church, the great work He has wrought through men and women and what He is doing through them today. The Church is not failing, the truth of God in Christ is being revealed now more than ever, the rate at which people are being converted to Christ is alarming and worth celebrating, whole communities are turning to Jesus Christ, and in places where Christianity is outlawed we are hearing news of men, women and children embracing the salvation of our God. Oh what a time to be a Christian! What a time to serve the Lord. Satan is not winning, he is losing and failing.
