@arachnofiendWELLI guess I should preface this by saying I was a completely asocial 17? year old when I was first invited to join (my instructor was also an inclusion support worker at the correspondence school I went to) and I accepted as a completely terrified of speaking (and completely socially unaware) kid.I got really into it.BUT TO GET TO THE GAY PARTSThe first that really stuck out to me was when I was standing with some ladies at the back of the class, some higher belts were warming up in front of us.And they were like talking about this really hot guy. He was such a hot guy. Did you check out that hot guy [Kai]?And I was like… looking at all the men in front. And they were all the same to me. I had NO fucking idea who they were talking about and honestly I still don’t. So I was just like “yeah… sure…”Our class also covered self-defense in the more practical sense which means grappling was a thing we also did. Grappling is basically like wrestling. There would be occasional pauses where either you or your partner had to say how, in your current position, you could incapacitate your partner.ONE TIME I was paired up with uhhh… with my fucking type I guess.She was sooo cute and muscley and had short black hair and a ton of bitchin’ tattoos and we were wrestling and the entire time I was just like FUCK FUCK FUCK I THINK I’M GAY HOW IS SHE SO HOt and she was super nice and teaching me all these things and my face was burning up and oops uuh we kept going after the rest of the class stopped and were watching us that was awkward.Fuck she was hot thoAnd then there were like, changing rooms. Obviously I was polite and didn’t look at anyone in there but like, one time one of my friends was asking me to help her with something and she was completely topless (and pretty large chested) and I was like “shit shit shit maybe I shouldn’t even be in here?? am I gay should I tell her I’m gay fuck it I’ll just help her and not look.”And then much later on I found out my aforementioned friend was bisexual and we BOTH had huge crushes on the girl I grappled with.Basically karate truly and utterly showed me I was nowhere near straight. -- source link
