Still no news on Steph or Cass, and Gail just realized last night that all the Robin/Bat boys get a piece of the pie and the Bat-girls have to get packing cuz Babs is the one and only. DC has seriously lost its mother-f-ing mind. Now, let me say this- I AM NOT COMPLETELY AGAINST THE REBOOT/RELAUNCH (since no one can really seem to decide what to call this). I have some SERIOUS issues with it, yes, but I am not against the concept in theory. Now, I have been told by other people what I FEEL, and what I THINK on this matter. And I’m here to set the record straight for MYSELF. I have been told, that I fear change and I am just upset that they [DC Comics] have taken something I liked and are changing it. Is that part of it? Sure, maybe, but what I’m more worried about is nonexistence and/or extinction. Now, I’m probably preaching to the choir here, you follow us, we follow you- so you obviously like the Birds and probably have similar or the same feelings. But you can’t tell me that there is not a chance that some of the characters that I hold dear to my heart (Birds of Prey related and not) could possibly be never seen or heard from again. And now, with this restart changing MANY if not all of the characters (and in most cases border-lining drastically) we’ve been following for years, how isn’t this going to piss people off? It would be lovely if DC could be a little more open about calming fears and answering some questions. Do i expect them to show us all their cards, NO. But let’s do a little damage control here people. You’ve taken fans who’ve been loyally following you, and giving you their hard earned money to pull the rug out from under them without much warning. Someone in a message board said that how are our questions (mostly referring to the female Batclan) more important or pressing than, lets say that of Dick going back to Nightwing? So, lets answer that shall we? Dick has changed names, costumes, cities, friends, lovers, personas before. Him growing, evolving for better and worse isn’t a shocking or new idea. He also isn’t a person of color, a sexual orientation out of the norm of straight white males, or disabled. And he’s not possibly being erased from DC history as we know it. Do we know for sure that Oracle isn’t, no. Is there a chance she is, yes. Now, this poster also commented that DC can’t or shouldn’t release information or answer questions because that would defeat the point of reading the future “new and restarted” books and ruin the plot points for these books- Now, I’m sorry, but if simply answering if the Barbara Gordon-Oracle persona is going to be gone forever and or made to never exist, and/or if some/certain characters are going to be included in the fun (madness) of this restart ruins an entire run of future comics as we know it, DC has a hell-of-a lot more issues than some angry fans. -- source link
