Perhaps because we’re socially conditioned at a young age to think video games are for boys. And most video games are thematically and commercially aimed at boys. And then you can imagine that despite having natural dexterity we’re discouraged from playing them early on so that later even if a girl is interested she’s behind the curve of her peer group in their skill level.
