buzz-london:Large painting on cloth depicting Annakut festival during Kartik Pratipada (after Diwali). ShriNathji is in silver brocade and the pichoi behind him is embroidered with real pearls and jewels. All seven main svaroops are invited for the new year feast. A mountain of rice is raised in the middle and baskets of various dishes are placed in front of Thakorjis. Vallabh-kul (extended family of Shri Vallabh’s descendants) are in attendance. Lower register shows cows, cowherds and river Yamuna with lotuses. Outer Register around the painting shows Shrinathji’s shringars through the main festivals throughout the year. Inner register depicts sacred places of pilgrimage. This sort of painting would have been hung in a house or a haveli for everyone to have a darshan of all the major festivals (in outer register and middle) -- source link
