I’m a little late for International Women’s Day, but I was inspired to create a piece based on a game which influenced my childhood almost as much as Rayman did!  To me Lara Croft is one of the greatest video game characters of all time, and certainly one of the greatest female characters.  While a lot of people want to dismiss the old school CORE Lara as just being a sexy character for men to ogle, little girl me just saw a woman who was confident, brave, daring, sassy, athletic and inspiring.  She was the kind of character I could see being a good friend, capable and always reaching into the unknown.The original Tomb Raider will always have a special place in my heart, clunky polygons and all! Even today I find myself watching playthroughs of the game on YouTube just to take in the story, the settings, the action of a game which wowed (and terrified!) me as a kid ;D -- source link
