Though she was grateful that the intruder had been interested in her belongings and not Grace herself, she had another problem. She lived alone and was very private - there was no rescue coming. Grace was going to have to get help on her own if she didn’t want her apartment to become her tomb. Forced to bunny hop her way along and frequently hindered by crashing into various objects thanks to the blindfold, Grace made it only as far as the front door threshold before she slumped in the corner to catch her breath. “Why do I live on the 10th floor?,” Grace cursed herself. She took a deep breath and struggled back onto her bare feet, wincing at the piercing October breeze through her nightgown. “Okay - only gotta hop down a couple hundred freezing cold concrete steps - barefoot, tied up, and blindfolded - without slipping and breaking my neck, and I’m home free. Easy enough, right?,” she psyched herself up as she edged her toes over the edge of the first step. -- source link
