beautybeforebrains: Needy is Sexy One of the weirdest things that’s happened to me since I came back to blogging is having so many female followers apologize for talking to me. I put my contact info out there because I want to talk, and yet time and time again girls feel like they need to apologize for taking me up on the offer and “taking up my time.” This is another tragic example of how we try to train girls to be ashamed of being needy the same way we train them to be ashamed of being dumb, even though you’re not really in control of either. Here’s the truth - girls are emotionally needy. That’s not a bad thing. You have a million years of evolution saying that your best strategy in life is to attach yourself to a man and have him fight off the bears, build the shelters, and gather food while you’re too pregnant to move. Girls are simply not meant to be independent, and the girls that have been least independent and needed men the most have been the ones that have reproduced. If you feel needy and lonely, that’s a million years of biology telling you to feel that way. That’s okay. Men are not as emotionally needy as girls are, which leads to problems when some boys don’t understand why girls are needy and why it’s okay. They don’t see that a needy, clingy girl that wants to earn your attention is the best and most beautiful kind of girl out there. Don’t let these guys make you feel badly about who you are. Focus on finding a man that appreciates your insecurity. There’s nothing sexier to me than a dumb girl that needs help and knows it. She’s desperate and obsessive because she’s afraid of life on her own. She needs constant attention and approval. She sends me selfies with just a hint of insecurity on her face, and I can tell she’s going to be nervous until I reply and tell her that she’s still sexy and still looks amazing. She’s always thinking of ways to be better for me because she’s worried that if she doesn’t I’ll get bored. That’s the kind of girl you stick with because she’s always going to give you her best.
