neko-chan-13:roses-field:mozasahan:concept: chell discovers shes an androidPLEASE someone make an au of thisShe wasn’t ready. She fell off the platform, without her boots. It was over, she would die in this hell hole miles underground. It was the end.She closed her eyes, clutch the portal gun to her chest. There wasn’t a way to get out of this, no portal survaces anywhere to be seen to allow herself a safe fall somewhere else.so that was how a pathetic little nap on the side of a panel would led to her death uh? Chell alway thougth her death would be boring, but something as stupid as that? Never have she thought about it. Another reminder that you can’t have nice things in this place. The ground was approching rapidly, unless the black panels of the floor would open up and some sort of cushion would be deployed to save her, that would be the last thing she would hit before being reduced to a mess of blood and broken bones in the perfectly clean test chamber.By instinc, she put her bare feet first, she know it would probably hurt even more, but old habits die hard. Chell’s feet came in contact with the cold panel, and absorbed the shock of the impact, sending shivers down her spine and cutting off her air supply. She let out a last breath…But it never came. She was hurt, no doubts on that, but she was alive, even if she shouldn’t be. Her legs where perfectly fine, she couldn’t feel them, they where still shaking form the fall, but they were in one piece, and she could still move them. This wasn’t normal. This wasn’t right. She should have died, so then why in the name of god was she still alive and in one bit?Chell looked around francticly, trying to find the portal gun she let go off once she reach the floor. It was sitting there on her left side, perfectly fine too. With shaky legs, she got up and walked to it. She still couldn’t feel her legs and he brain was in overdrive mode, trying to solve the reason why she wasn’t dead. Grabbing the portal gun, she made her way around the pit, trying to found a portal surface to get back up in some way. It was hard with legs that could barely support your weight and impossible questions runnign throught your mind at the speed of light. Never in her life Chell had that many things to understand at the same time, but solving puzzules was one of her best quality after all.Once she finally found a way to get back up using portals, she was greated by a familliar, cold, robotic voice from the speaker hidden somewhere in the room.“Oh good. You’re back. I thought you’d kill yourself with that fall. Good thing you had those boots one to save you. Else you would have been a mess to clean down there. Not that I would have mind. It just wouldn’t have been as satisfying as killing you myself, or for science.”Chell emergded from the panels into a new testing track. The cameras pointed at her, observing her from head to toes. “You know that without those boots you won’t live for very long. And it wouldn’t help my scientific databank either. I know humans can die if they fell from a high place. Go put them back on and we can continue testing.”There was an hesitation in the robot’s voice that she never heard before. A sort of fear that a secret had been revealed. It was almost imposible to pick out, but when you’re testing for months with the same voice whispering you terrible things, you start the know the usual tone of voice she use. And that made Chell want to test something else. She was still on a platform high from the test chamber bellow. She wouldn’t survive the fall. So she jumped. Instantly, the robotic voice screamed at her. Asked her what she was doing and how does she think she’ll survive the fall, panic in her voice.Once again, Chell hitted the floor and other than noticable pain in her legs, she was fine. the cameras where pointing at them and the room was silent. Not even the constant humming of the facility seemed to be heard. Something definetly wasn’t right here, and She knew something that she didn’t. “Well- maybe that fall wasn’t high enough to kill you. I’ll have to revise my data on that. Next time be more careful, you could get hurt and die for nothing but petty science. You’re worth more than that.”Chell was still thinking. Nothing was making sense, she couldn’t survive a fall that high again. Something with her was wrong. The bandage on her arm felt sticky on her skin, is was too warm, warmer than normal, she scratched at it absently, trying to understand what was wrong with her. She started to pace the room, under the anoying look of the cameras still focued on her. “I wouldn’t scratch that if you want it to heal one day.”She stopped. Chell never thought about that, but she never saw what kind of injury was under her bandage. Probably a cut or something reminessent of her first fight with Her. Looking at it, wasn’t covered in blood, ther was nothing that could suggest something was healing under it. Form what she could see, it was only a piece of cloth. She started undoing the wraping around her wrist.“Taking off a bandage that haven’t completely heal will increase the risk of the wound getting infected. You don’t have anything to change it. leave it on, if you die of an infection it is not science either.”She was getting more and more insitant on the bandage thing. Something with it wasn’t right. And so Chell continues to unwarp. And she would have prefer to not see what was underneat. She was ready for a cut, a deep ugly wound that would stay there for the rest of her life, but no. It was nothing like that. There was a tiny panel there. A little light that was glowing softly. A serial number and an inscription reading: “Android test model and memory conserving body”@neko-chan-13 bruhhhh thank you for taking the time to write this!!! -- source link
