awesome-est-art: “1 year can make a world of a difference.” Hello everyone, today I present you, something different from the usual, ie not lewds, but a drawing to celebrate my 1 year of learning to draw. You can expect a longer post than usual, I assume 2-3 people actually read it, but thanks for taking the time to do it. Here goes: When 2016 started off, I was still trying to become a writer. I just finished my second chapter ever and was struggling to do more. At that time I was coming up with the idea of Club Beacon with @shonomi-art (which might be something that inspired me?). I also just meet a good friend that dabbled in drawing. In February, I expressed the need to try again, I did a lot before and I wanted to try once more. I asked Shonomi to help me kick it off, which started with an horrible drawing, but he encouraged me and I kept going. A week or so later I drew the picture you can see above while he was doing the same, following his sketch. At that moment I was hooked, I needed to get better. So I set a goal of 1 month to myself, if nothing came of it I’d stop trying, if not I’d continue. I improved drastically quickly with great help from my friends (mostly artists themselves), and I continued. I started drawing more complete and complex drawings, and eventually thought of buying a drawing tablet to kick it up a notch. I was thinking an intuos one, but what happened was even better. In a shortspan of time I got enough money to consider a better tablet, and going on a site similar to Ebay, (but local) found the perfect tablet: A Cintiq 12WX that looked brand new. I got the rest of the money and contacted the guy who showed up to my house to help me set it up (awesome dude) and like that I was back to being poor, but happy as can be with my own Cintiq. I finished my last physical drawing at that time, and decided to scan and digitalize it, drawing over it. and in July of the same year, posted my first drawing right here. From there I kept on drawing, having help from friends and support from all the people here. In December of the same year did my first work for money, with @inuyuru‘s Milfology book. And now today, I stand here, writing this message after finished a drawing using the same pose that inspired me to continue. I cannot thank my friends enough, especially @chaosarmageddon who’s been there to give me feedback when I needed it, @solardoodles for a bunch of tutorials, @lightkiller100draws and Arachne for the support , Isabella for the support, and most importantly, @shonomi-art for well… everything he has/is done/doing to help me. Seriously thank you guys :) And thank you to everyone of you, who follows me, who liked/reblogged something, every perv on /r/RWBYNSFW… Finally, to close it all. I want to say to anyone who’s reading this, and always wanted to accomplish something and never tried because they thought “I can’t do it.” I guarantee you, you can. Give yourself a week, or even better a month, and try it out. Reach to someone that can help you, even in the slightest. It takes around 20 hours to “learn” something, so why not try it? 20 hours in a lifetime is nothing, but it can define your future. ========== Now for a review! (which will be somewhat quick) Pose is incredible to do again. Hair is not incredible, but wanted to try out different coloring techniques. Face is ehh. Clothes are very basic but I wanted something simple and fitting of her. Shading is always to improve BG was a blast! A lot of perspective training, and a lot of creativity to create this little private beach near the docks, it’s not incredible, but hey little by little I’ll get there. To be fair I wasn’t sure of an idea while doing the pose, was thinking of the Virgin-Killer Sweater, but looking outside and seeing a ton of snow, I went for something I really need: Vacation with my waifu. ========== So stay tuned for more from me! I hope to keep improving and doing more lewds (From RWBY and eventually other fandoms I like) in the future, although school is taking a lot of time, so a drawing a month may be somewhat realistic. I hope you enjoy it :) Comments and Critiques are much appreciated -- source link
