More Werewolf BonesSince Bones is such a gentle werewolf he doesn’t lash out when he transforms under stress, however that doesn’t mean his anxiety disappears. When he’s alone he’ll have the intense urge to chew to help ease his anxiety, but the problem is that there isn’t anything safe or strong enough for him to gnaw on in a spaceship. SOooo, he gnaws on his arms instead.Bones knows this is not healthy but he feels he’s been a burden enough with his new condition (plus he’s embarrassed by it) so he doesn’t tell anyone. He tries to stop himself though, promising himself he won’t do it next time, but with little success.Jim finds out though, finally seeing the scars on Bone’s arms and gives him an earful for not telling him, as well as firmly telling him he is not a burden. Thus begins Jim’s quest to find a werewolf proof chew toy, which is easier said than done. ((Jim makes sure to always be with Bones when he’s transformed after this, so he can’t stop Bones if he tries to chew himself.))On multiple planets Jim tries to find bones that are sturdy enough not to break from McCoy’s jaws, but malleable enough so they also won’t break his teeth. This goes on for almost a month and Bones just tells Jim to quite it, but JIM IS DETERMINED and finally perseveres on one mission.The planet they land on is inhabited by hunters who have giant bear wolves for pets that love chewing on animal bones. The hunters are more than happy to share and Jim is practically vibrating with excitement when he gives Bones one to try.Turns out it’s perfect and much to Bones embarrassment and secret relief, Jim stows away a hundred more on the ship just in case. -- source link
