sapphia:cs-rugbyworld:castielcampbell:jaydenthorne:unconsciousearth:Emma Stone, Jennifer Lawrence, and Scarlett Johansson Have an Older-Man ProblemNo. Hollywood has an older man problem.this is so grossFUCKING HOLLYWOOD!!!!Also, let’s talk about Jennifer Lawrence a bit more because hers doesn’t look as bad as the other two at first glance. She has four love interests that are sort of close to her age, and Josh Hutcherson is actually younger than she is. And the reason for that is that she’s playing a teenager. That is the only reason why the guys are so “young” in those movies. Because hollywood refuses to cast actual teenagers and you have Jennifer Lawrence playing a 16 year old girl at the age of 21. The only reason why there’s even a 19 year old boy on that graph is because they couldn’t get away with casting anyone older because they would have looked too grown up. Liam Hemsworth is only 4 years older than his character in catching fire, compared to Jennifer’s six, because Hollywood regularly sexualises teens and casts teenage actors who are most definitely not in their teens. It’s a similar story with Like Crazy - literally the only reason she gets a young love interest is because the story is about teenagers/young adults and is aimed at a younger audience. but if it’s a generic or genre movie (like xmen) or its aimed at an older audience (like silver-linings playbook) her love interests age instantly skyrockets. frankly it’s gross -- source link
