yfcokcwest:I am so thankful for the people in this picture. They are interns that volunteer on the campus of Putnam City High from Victory. Yesterday something special happened on campus. We were in our impact club and a student came to visit in a wheelchair. She kept pretty quiet so I approach her to make her feel comfortable and introduce myself. She responds and tells me how she heard about us, and I asked if she went to church somewhere. She then told me no, my mom is catholic and I’m an atheist now. I said ok, I asked her if she had always been an atheist and she responded “No, I didn’t used to be.” I didn’t want to push the envelope, but I wanted to do my part to show her love so I didn’t start to say she was wrong I just kept the conversation going, because I could tell that her decision was based on her circumstances and things that had happened in her life. At that moment one of the interns comes and starts to share his testimony with her because he himself was an atheist and had fount truth in Jesus. The conversation continues throughout lunch and all of a sudden I look over and they are all praying together. The bell rings and the interns walk with her back to class. I’m waiting in the office for their return, and it is taking a while, so when they finally get back the tell me how when they got to the classroom. It just so happened the teacher asked them to share about what they do at the school and at Victory. Then they are able to share their hearts during the class. At this point in those the teacher, upon hearing them share, is moved to tears and express her gratitude for their hearts for students. Which then moved several students to ask about their church and want to come to their Wednesday night service, including the girl that said she was an atheist. All of this happened through people being willing to just love someone enough to share their heart with them and encourage them. Thank you for helping make stories like this possible.
