serinoxtv:Huh. Usually, Kuroda has his right eye closed, like Kansuke has, so we always assumed that he has nothing there. But now we get this shot in 987. Is this supposed to be an artificial eye? Would be kind of weird, since they are supposed to look real, with a pupil and all; also he wears half-shaded glasses. Is it supposed to be merely a placeholder for health reasons under there? Or is there just nothing under his lids, but Gosho couldn’t draw that more graphically? Well, I’ve seen it before that anime/manga characters who lost their eyes due to some incident (usually through fire) were depicted with either a lighter pupil or no pupil at all. Maybe it’s just a ‘manga-thing”. But hey, It’s Aoyama. Who knows what he’s thinking. I also think that if he wanted to show that there’s nothing underneath, he would’ve shaded it black somehow.Could be that he used this shot to show that it’s NOT an artificial eye (at least not how we would expect it to look like). -- source link
