Ms Codex 1058 is a Psalter that originates from France and was written around 1100. It is filled with extensive, mostly unattributed, interlinear and marginal glosses. The Initial B, as we have mentioned, begins the first Psalm in the book of Psalms with the words “Beatus Vir,” Blessed is the man.If you look at the layout of the manuscript’s original text, plenty of marginal room is left empty, suggesting that this Psalter was perhaps made with the intention of future notes to fill these unusually large marginal spaces. To view the full digitized version of Ms Codex 1058, visit Openn:http://openn.library.upenn.edu/Data/0002/html/mscodex1058.html -- source link
