“Solo hike in Mt. Hibok-Hibok.”As we ascend early morning via Yumbing Trail we were lucky enough to see wild birds hooting and flying above us and forest rats coming out. It was a surprising experience to see life unfold right in front of us. Hours of climbing, we halted for a quick rest. And as the sunlight filters through the trees there was a deafening silence. Out of all the mountains I ever climbed, so far, this is the most challenging. The climb was tough, with endless uphill. It was exhausting and the trail is steep from its base to the summit. I was fascinated and overwhelmed not just by its one of a kind view but also with it’s trail. The crater lake is immensely beautiful as we arrived late in the morning but before reaching the summit an upper body strength is needed as we faced an almost 90 degree wall in the middle of the trail with a 4 x 4 (hands & legs) force to scramble up to the summit supported only with ropes and roots. As we reached it I was able to take a glimpse of the beauty the summit offers. The whole experience I gathered from this trek was one for the books. I travel to Camiguin solo and it brought me to the next level of my mountain climbing adventure. Tough climb but worth the view.1,332+ MASL.instagram.com/carolinewanderlust -- source link
