Composed by Wallace W. Reumann, a soldier for much of his young life who trained in Chito-Ryu Karate while stationed in Japan, ultimately gaining a fifth-degree black belt. In addition to operating several karate schools in New Jersey (and later, California), Reumann ran a relentless mail-order campaign, selling karate and self-defense manuals from ads placed in magazines and comic books.
