James Brice House, Annapolis, Maryland, 1971.The house near the state capitol is maintained as a museum. The stairway to the front entry has been replaced with a porch and double flight of stairs, but otherwise the view is largely unchanged. The house was originally built in 1792 by the slave-holding James Brice who served as city mayor and later as acting governor. Excavations in the garden have unearthed various items linked to the slaves who toiled on the property. -- source link
