toadschooled:This spotted shovel snout frog [also known as the spotted burrowing frog, Hemisus guttatus] was photographed in southern Africa by Tyrone Ping. Unlike similar burrowing frogs, this frog burrows into the soil head-first with the aid of their hardened, pointy snouts. These frogs are found in arid and hot environments where they burrow deep into the ground to conserve moisture. -- source link
